The imposing white edifice is situated in the centre of the city and is yet another expression of the gigantomania of the Tajik government of the last years. Among other huge projects of the country is also the region's largest teahouse and the world's biggest flagpole (165m), unveiled in 2011.
By the way, the Tajik National Library is now displayed also on the banknotes 200 Somoni.
You can combine your visit of the impressive library with enjoying an energizing cup of coffee in its ground floor café.
