The Marat Guelman gallery, founded in 1990, is housed in two buildings located in different parts of the city - at the former wine factory which now is a centre of contemporary art, and on Malaya Polianka Street. It was one of the first art galleries opened in the post-Soviet Russia. The gallery is focusing on artists who launched their career in the 1990s. Today they are the leaders of the Moscow art scene: Dmitry Gutov, Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarsky, Oleg Kulik, the Novosibirsk Blue Noses group of artists (Vyacheslav Mizin and Alexander Shaburov) et al. These names represent Russia at influential exhibitions of contemporary art worldwide. The Gelman Gallery participates in prestigious art fairs like FIAC, Art Basel, Art Cologne.
