Coccodrillo Men’s Boutique

Most big cities boast a shoe store that enjoys the status of a star: in Antwerp, the cradle of the Belgian fashion industry, it is Coccodrillo - practically a legend in its own right. Its opening in 1984 in Schuttershofstraat, a fairly nondescript and insignificant street at the time, caused an avalanche-like effect, transforming it into one of the Antwerp neighbourhoods most favoured by luxury fashion brands. You would be hard pressed to find another footwear store featuring such an intensity of design fantasies. Another thing that makes Coccodrillo so special is the fact that it has supported and promoted the most vivid talents of the Belgian fashion world throughout its history: for instance, it was here that Martin Margiela presented his first ever shoe collection. Coccodrillo has recently expanded, adding a separate room dedicated exclusively to men's footwear. While the decor is strictly Art Nouveau-inspired, the collection is like conceptualist manna from heaven: global brands, offerings by representatives of the legendary Antwerp Six and niche brands worthy of genuine style gourmets.
