Prada Pop – up store

A pop-up shop concept has turn into a popular crises relief recipe for the fashion industry. Unrivaled in this respect is Comme des Garçons with its Black line, created in June and available at 11 new shops around the world, including two specially set up guerrilla shops in New York and Paris. Another follower of this trend is Japanese brand Uniqlo with its short-term shop in Paris Marais area (3 rue des Blancs Manteaux), and another one to be opened in August 31 in cooperation with Parisian boutique Colette. The pop-up craze has hit the famous fashion flagship Prada as well, having opened its first short-term boutique in Paris for five month, starting from July. Set up in a former art gallery of the city's 8th arrondissement, its façade design is a tribute to the great landmark of Paris - the Mirabeau Bridge, the first metal bridge in Paris, built in the end of the 19th century. The interior of the store, with seemingly communicating among themselves mannequins, conjures up vivid, bohemian scenes of Paris, be it a bar, a station or just a street corner. As if revering its Italian roots, the shop features checked black-and-white marble floor that recalls Prada's original store in Milan, opened in 1913. The store in Paris has two floors and it offers Prada's ready-to-wear women's collections and accessories, including a limited edition handbag in gray leather.
