Yohji Yamamoto Store
Having opened his biggest store worldwide just a year ago in Antwerp, Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto has finally made his dream come true by launching another one in Paris. Moreover, it is located on the legendary Rue Cambon, the same street where Coco Chanel's couture salon, store and Coco's apartment are housed. Throughout white, 600 square meters and 3-levels large space outwardly resembles a white box. A special feature of the new store, reflecting poetic trait so typical to Yamamoto's style, is a huge, 3-dimensional window, giving feeling of lightness - as if the room was floating in the air. It is filled by white pyramids, made of translucent Japanese paper shojigami, resembling rows of flying birds. Another decorative element is wooden paneling, lining one wall of a passage that leads into a room with just seven mannequins, rotating on a metal platform. The store holds both women's and men's collections as well as jewelry.
