Jumbo Hostel

Jumbo Hostel absolutely is among the most extraordinary lodgings in the world. Opened in January 2009 in Stockholm airport, it's housed in an authentic 460 seat Boeing 747- 200 Jumbo Jet airplane. Built in 1976, it has served several airlines, including Pan Am and Singapore Airlines, but in 2002 made its final landing in Arlanda Airport. After rejuvenating procedures, the old plane has got its second chance and passengers are keen to get on board again. The new lodging has attracted lots of attention, even become a new landmark of Stockholm, and no wonder - sited at the very airport building - it simply cannot be passed by without notice. Jumbo Hostel offers 25 rooms, sleeping 75 guests, from a 4-bed dorm (EUR 32 per bed), to private 1-2-3 rooms, suitable for up to three adults (EUR 123) and an exclusive cockpit-suite where pilots where at the control of the aircraft once (for EUR 301). It's the only one, however, that offers a private bathroom and shower, while the other Jumbo Hostel guests have to use shared amenities in the corridor. The hostel features its own café, and travelers are taken into a small excursion along the gangways of converted aircraft.
