Hard Days Night Hotel
Some may interpret it as a smart marketing and an attempt to squeeze a final golden egg out of the Beatles legend. However it may be, opened on 1 February, 2008 in the city of the legendary foursome, Hard Days Night Hotel is Beatlesland in the direct sense of the word. It is themed around the Beatles all the way through - starting from a lobby, adorned with a Yellow submarine jukebox, to its 110 guest bedrooms. The most exclusive ones being John Lennon's suite, featuring a white piano, and Paul McCartney's one - displaying a Knight's suit of armor. The Beatles hits are played day and night and their movies featured on TV screens. Paul's brother Mike McCartney especially for the Hard Days Night Hotel has produced a series of photos and Shannon, the greatest Beatles artist ever - more than 110 pictures - one for each room. Its opening time couldn't have been more appropriate either - the year when Liverpool is announced to be European Capital of Culture. The Beatles' exhibition of photos will go on display at the National Conservation Centre, Whitechapel, until 2 March. Now These Days Are Gone features photographs taken by Michael Peto during filming of the Beatles "Help!" in 1965.
